Your first season
From a fresh install to a running, ended season.
This walks a new server from install to a running season.
1. Decide your rank count
The shipped table has 20 ranks. To change it, edit ranks.yml and run /rsmp reload. The highest positive row is the rank count.
2. Pick the rules
Open config.yml and check these before you start:
| Setting | Question |
|---|---|
season.rank-stealing.enabled | Can kills take ranks? |
season.rank-stealing.max-rank-difference | Limit the rank gap for a steal (0 = none) |
season.rank-stealing.cooldown | Seconds between steals |
season.inactivity.enabled | Take ranks from players who stay offline? |
auto-assign-ranks.enabled | Give leftover ranks to late joiners? |
rank-transfer.enabled | Let players give their rank away? |
inventory.enabled | Allow /inv extra storage? |
3. Optional extras
- Give everyone the Hierarchy Hammer at start:
hierarchy-hammer.auto-give-on-start: trueinitems.yml. - Link a Discord bot for leaderboards and role sync.
- Install TAB for gradient prefixes.
4. Start
/rsmp startOnline players are assigned open ranks and see the reveal. Players who join later are handled by auto-assign-ranks.
5. During the season
| Task | Command |
|---|---|
| Check someone's perks | /rankinfo [player] |
| Leaderboard | /ranktop |
| Fix a broken player | /rsmp fix [player] |
| Give or remove a rank | /rsmp rank set <player> <rank> / /rsmp rank remove <player> |
| Keep a player out | /rankblacklist add <player> |
| Back up ranks | /rankexport |
6. End
/rsmp stopThis clears all rank assignments and asks for confirmation. Run /rankexport first if you want a record.
