Migrating from RankedSMP

Import ranks and extra inventories from Lusik's RankedSMP plugin.

Move a server from Lusik's RankedSMP plugin to RankedSMPX. The /rsmp migrate command imports player ranks and extra inventories.

What is imported

Data	Old location	Result
Player ranks	`plugins/RankedSMP/config.yml`, `players.<uuid>.rank`	Set in RankedSMPX. Existing ranks are overwritten.
Extra inventories	`plugins/RankedSMP/data.db`, table `extra_inventories`	Merged into RankedSMPX.

Not imported: rank history, and the old plugin's settings and messages. Set up rank perks in ranks.yml and rules in config.yml.

Ranks that are 0 or higher than your RankedSMPX rank count are skipped. The default count is 20. If your old server had more, add rows to ranks.yml first.

Steps

Back up the whole server, including plugins/RankedSMP/.
Stop the server.
Remove the old RankedSMP jar from plugins/. Keep the plugins/RankedSMP/ data folder. The old plugin must not be loaded.
Add the RankedSMPX jar and start the server. See Installation.
Add rows to ranks.yml if you need more than 20 ranks, then /rsmp reload.
Run /rsmp migrate. It scans the old data and shows a preview with the number of ranked players and inventories.
Run /rsmp migrate again within 60 seconds to confirm. The confirmation expires after that.
Check the result with /ranks and /einvsee <player>.

What to expect

Any running game is stopped before the import, then the season is switched on if at least one rank was imported.
Changes apply immediately. Online players get their hearts and tab prefix updated.
It cannot be undone. Restore your backup to roll back.
A failed inventory is logged and skipped. The rest continues.

Errors

Message	Fix
Old RankedSMP plugin data not found	`plugins/RankedSMP/` is missing. Copy the old data folder back.
Old RankedSMP plugin is still loaded	Remove the old jar and restart.
No data found to migrate	The folder has no players or inventories.
Confirmation expired	Run `/rsmp migrate` again.

After migrating

Set perks and prefixes in ranks.yml.
Review config.yml: rank stealing, inventory and sounds.
Keep the backup until you have verified ranks and inventories.
